| ACUPRESSURE |
| During your reflexology or massage session, Darren may make use of various acupressure points. These acupressure points, which Michael Reed Gach, author and founder of the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, calls "Potent Points," are places on the skin that "are especially sensitive to bioelectrical impulses in the body and conduct those impulses readily." Furthermore, Gach writes that "stimulating these points with pressure, needles, or heat triggers the release of endorphins, which are neurochemicals that relieve pain." It is also common for tension to concentrate near acupressure points. By recognizing these problem areas and using the proper touch therapy to dissolve that tension, Darren encourages the body to move toward improved circulation of blood and bioelectrical energy, greater resistance to illness and a release of stress-induced muscle tension. |
